Smoking Policy

Smoke Free Illinois Act

  • No person shall smoke in a public place or in any place of employment or within 15 feet of any entrance to a public place or place of employment.
  • "Smoking" means the carrying, smoking, burning, inhaling or exhaling of any kind of lighted pipe, cigar, cigarette, hookah, weed, herbs or any other lighted smoking equipment.
  • Violations: A person who smokes in an area where smoking is prohibited shall be fined in an amount that is not less than $100 and not more than $250. Each day that a violation occurs is a separate violation.

Deerfield Smoke Free Air Ordinance

Smoking restrictions on the following:

  • All enclosed public places, including restaurants, bars and places of employment and home based businesses that employ more than one employee.
  • Unenclosed public places such a public parks, outdoor dining areas and school grounds.
  • Within 25 feet of all public entrances or entrances to places of employment, outdoor dining areas, or an outdoor event venue while an event is taking place.

We have designated areas at each building that serve as designated smoking areas. Please utilize these:

  • Three Parkway North: 25' west of the south loading dock door and east end of 3PN parking garage, by the stairwell.
  • Six Parkway North: 25' west of the west loading dock door.
  • Nine Parkway North: 25' west of the west loading dock door.
